The Joy of Labels - Business Launch April 2021

The Joy of Labels is a small business that provides custom designed labels, stickers and other organising tools for your space.

The Joy of Labels was looking for a solution to their lack of sales and an inability to get their new business out there. They were a small company with big dreams, but couldn't find the right tools to help them succeed.

Caoimhe worked with them to build and launch their new business, from the ground up. We built their branding from scratch, creating a logo, colour palette and brand voice that resonated with our customer base. Caoimhe also worked on The Joy of Labels' content strategy, helping them develop the right kind of content for their audience.

We then created, edited and posted this content via a content scheduler so that we could maintain consistent messaging throughout the year—even when we weren't around!

As a result of these efforts, The Joy of Labels made profit during their first quarter! And they successfully launched their Christmas Digital Marketing Strategy leading to all products being sold and a 50% profit after the campaign—all thanks to Caoimhe's help!

Case Study: Growing the OLS Irish Community

Background: OLS Irish Community is a language learning platform designed to facilitate language exchange and cultural immersion for Erasmus students in Ireland. With the Irish language being spoken by only 39% of the population and approximately 9,895 Erasmus students and staff arriving in Ireland each year, the challenge was to build a thriving community despite these limitations.

Challenge: The task was to grow the OLS Irish Community from scratch to 210 members within three months, leveraging content marketing strategies to engage Erasmus students and foster a sense of community around the Irish language and culture.

Strategy: Caoimhe, the community manager, spearheaded the growth of the OLS Irish Community through a strategic blend of content creation, engagement initiatives, and targeted outreach. The strategy focused on providing value to members through informative blog posts on Irish culture topics, weekly discussion groups, and timely announcements to keep members informed and engaged.

Implementation:

  1. Content Creation: Caoimhe coordinated the creation of four blog posts covering various aspects of Irish culture, such as traditional music, folklore, festivals, and cuisine. Each post was meticulously researched and crafted to provide valuable insights while showcasing the richness of Irish heritage.
  2. Weekly Discussion Groups: To encourage interaction and participation within the community, Caoimhe organized weekly discussion groups where members could engage in conversations related to language learning, cultural exchange, and their experiences in Ireland. These sessions provided a platform for members to connect, share knowledge, and practice their language skills in a supportive environment.
  3. Timely Announcements: Caoimhe ensured that every new blog post was accompanied by a timely announcement sent to all community members, notifying them of the latest content and encouraging them to participate in discussions. This proactive approach kept members engaged and informed, driving traffic to the platform and fostering a sense of anticipation for future content.
  4. Research-Based Strategy: The content strategy was developed based on thorough research of best practices for language learning and the value that each piece of content could offer to the target audience. By understanding the needs and preferences of Erasmus students, Caoimhe was able to tailor the content to resonate with the community and provide meaningful value.

Results: Despite the challenges posed by the limited reach of the Irish language and the relatively small population of Erasmus students in Ireland, Caoimhe's strategic efforts yielded impressive results:

  • The OLS Irish Community grew from 0 to 210 members within three months, exceeding the initial target.
  • Engagement levels within the community were high, with active participation in discussion groups and positive feedback on the blog posts.
  • Members reported increased motivation to learn the Irish language and deeper appreciation for Irish culture, highlighting the impact of the community-building initiatives.

Conclusion: Through strategic content creation, engagement initiatives, and targeted outreach, Caoimhe successfully grew the OLS Irish Community from a fledgling platform to a vibrant hub of language learning and cultural exchange. By providing valuable content and fostering a supportive community environment, Caoimhe demonstrated the power of effective community management in overcoming challenges and achieving growth objectives.
